The 2018 Areas of Competition and Judging Scale

All World Beauties Areas of Competition

Interview Competition - 40%: This will be a panel style interview where the judges get to learn about your successes, goals and ambitions. Present yourself in a sophisticated, self-confident manner and professional manner.

Self-Introduction/Costume - 10%: This portion of the competition is really fun because it gives the delegate to show their creativity with the State Costume of their choice. You must select a costume which you feel represents your state and your introduction should include some facts about your state or country.

Fitness Wear Competition - 10%: It is important to remember that it is not about any particular body style, shape or frame. Rather it is about maintaining good health. For fitness wear this is the opportunity for you to show the judges what activity you do to live a health lifestyle. Mrs., Ms., and Miss contestants can wear yoga clothing, karate, sports team gear, tennis wear, golf outfit, dance clothing, running clothes, or aerobic wear. It is up to the contestant to decide what color, cut, or style. Teen and Jr. Teen contestants can wear their school athletic uniforms, like cheer uniform, drill team uniform, soccer uniform, basketball uniform or regular fitness wear (like what was suggested for the Miss contestants). Contestants should wear tennis shoes during this phase of competition. If you have questions about what is appropriate please contact the pageant office.

High Fashion Wear - 10%: This is the fun category; it’s your time to model an outfit that represents your style. Each contestant wears an outfit he/she has chosen for themselves. The most important thing about fashion wear is that it portrays your sense of style. It can be a cocktail dress, pant suit, pants and jacket, a skirt and top for the women. The men can wear a fashionable suit, dressy evening wear, or something that you would wear on a night out on the town. We are looking for something that you would see during Fashion Week, or in fashion magazine. You may wear accessories of your choice and shoes of your choice.

Evening Gown/Formalwear Competition – 25%: For the women, each contestant wears a gown she has chosen for herself. You should feel comfortable. Make sure you wear the gown and that it doesn’t wear you. You should simply “shine” for the judges. You will need one full-length evening gown for competition. Your gown should represent your own personality and taste. The style design and color are up to you. You should wear whatever you look and feel the best in. There is no “right” style or color but it must be full length down to the floor. It can be elaborate, or very simple. Choose something that makes you feel beautiful! The important this is to pick a gown style and color that flatters YOU! The judges will be scoring you not the gown. Choose a dress that walks well, and shows well on stage. Know that you don’t have to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks! Teens are encouraged to wear gown that reflect a more youthful style and look than the older contestants. Please keep it age appropriate!

Final Question – 5%: Each delegate will be asked an on stage question during the evening gown competition. The questions will be drawn at random. The delegate will not get an opportunity to view the questions prior to the pageant.
